Which ute is tougher? (Build up project)

why on earth did you set out to get a ute, then buy a Bundera, then want to convertthat into a ute. Why not just continue searching and find a ute. If you convert the Bundy into a ute you will end up with a very small ute not much use for anything

I was toying with the idea of turning a ute into an extra cab as well. I just like the bit of extra space behind the seats and a bit of a tray.
I know I just could have looked for an extra cab Hilux or somethin but I wanted something with a larger cab and engine bay.

With half the rear passenger section of the Bundera cut and shut and the chassis extended by the same length for a tray I would have an extra cab with a useable size tray.
Just toying with the idea, depends what the engineer will allow and if so, how much work is involved.

The GU's Ive been looking at for a full comp ute are only about 3 1/2 to 4 grand. there 3 years old are coil all round. sure there pretty rought but they have every thing to get you started and chance's are you end up modifing or replaceing must of the stuff on it any way. cheap way to go i reckon. don't get me wrong I love my hzj 75.

Yeah atm they are only availabe to employees of this particular site, but then they usually go to brisbane car auctions, you could try ringing a few lease companys since there all mine lease vehicles. apart from that ill see what else i can find out, they also have a 79's and 100's too

Wooders, my work truck when I started working for myself 16 years ago was a '70 J3000 with a D60 in the back, and a '74 258 backed up by a T98A. Slow as a wet week, but geez it had some character. The front end was a spring over, no camber on the springs and the flex was surprising.
Oh, and it had a chrome grille out of a Wagoneer
