WHAT IS THE GOOD OIL!

Post by bushpig59 »

Ok there was a thread on this but I cant find it... I am going to the brother in laws service station and putting the zook on the hoist and anything Thats got oil in it is going to be replaced. And will be bleeding the brakes too....
Gear Box - Transfer - Front Diff - Rear Diff - Motor...
What is the best oils that I might be able to use for the diffs - transfer. And yes I will like to nulon it to death and back. As I have the impression it may quieten the noise and perhaps make it work better. (yeah bulldust)
Can any one give me the good oil on good oil!

if you put syntrax in diffs and gearbox, and transfer, and mobil 1 or equivelant in the engine. you should be pretty sorted. with good gear oil like this I doubt that nulon would have a great deal of difference.

that may set you back a couple of hyundred dollars in oil though.

if you want to be cheaper then id put vmx 80 with nulon in the diffs transfer and gearbox and maybe castrol magnatec in the engine. you will still get a much better result with these then just normal specified oils.

FWIW.
I have a 94 vitara, 1.6, efi, now has 144k on the clock.
I put in new penritel (SIN) Synthetic 10w70 into it about a week ago.

http://www.penrite.com.au/nextpage.php

Took it for a run to stockton yesterday and the oil has barely moved down the dial, it has also kept its colour (ie looks the same as when it went in, clear and light brown) which is something no other oil could do after a day revving the crap out of it.
It would drop as much as half and would be black.

I will be looking into their full range of sin oil, for my gearbox and diffs

muppet_man67 thanks for your input , its that sort of reply I like I realise that the recommended oils may be ok but like to try something more modern and dont mind spending the extra....(to within reason)....
Is there any other ideas out their?
