The Queensland Winch Challenge Round 1

Post by Troll00 »

G`day ALL!

Round 1 is on 3-5 March 2006
Landcruiser Mountain Park, Jimna

Round one is nearly here already, so we better get some paper work happening.

As we are having two classes this year, Super A Class and Winch Challenge Class it would be greatly appreciated if we can get some forms emailed back as soon as.

FREE entry if you’re entering the “Out Back Challenge” this year (We want you at your peak) on a couple of conditions:

1: Must enter over the entire week end, can’t start late or go home

early with out giving the RFDS $100. first.

2: Will NOT count for points at the end of the year.

3: Following all of the normal procedures of a fully paid up competitor,

there will be no trophies or prizes.

4. For this round only.

The BIG change is Friday night counts over the week end. But there is a late check in (8PM).

Always looking for ANY THING (well almost) for the RFDS raffle for

Saturday night, EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS ALOTE!!

See you there; any drams give us a call.

Lance

or PM Me (Damo) and I can e-mail you entry forms I have only put this up for Lance if you are entering you need to send your info to him

C U There

Remember that there is also a late check in on Friday night at 8pm, So those that have to work Friday can still make it, REMEMBER Friday night is now included in the weekends point score.

Just a few clarifications on the new class changes taking effect in Round 1 of The Queensland Winch Challenge.
Winch Challenge Class allows up to a MEASURED 35 inch tyre
Super A Class allows up to a MEASURED 37 inch tyre.

We will have equipment on hand to measure tyres if the need arises.
Regards
Sam

You don't have to be that fit to do well. Lance's are more the thinking mans comp ;) I was 38 and over weight when I was a winch b*tch and had a ball doing it, you will be surprised how much you learn.

Skip and I will be there in the EFS MQ. Still waiting for ARB to get the air locker parts but for the front diff after the wheelstand at XWC Rnd 1. 3 wheel drive gets boring after awhile...

I've fixed the Rangie after ripping the A frame socket clean off the diff. I'm not shipping my navie up from Sydney for this one so i'll be using a local. Be nice to us he's a winch challenge virgin but he's super keen. I was talking to the pieman last week and I hope he's coming up to compete. I hear he's got some hourses under the bonnet of the Red Rangie this year. Give the ethnic person a run for his money in the Xtreme later in the Year

It was a typical Genie challenge heaps of bad side angles &
very steep hills. The rain Friday night made it very slippery
, fester rolled, then Glen T rolled going in to recover him.
Last car ran at 1.30pm. I didnt See to much Sat very similar Stages as fri
night. Sore Fester Go through 2 Stages & they looked very
impresive , they found there groove comprd to the night stages.

went up sat for a look .
friday night fester rolled and the vehicle sent to recover him rolled as well .
the tracks were very steep not much driving but a hell of a lot of winching.
al tierney was going pretty well as well as fester and piglet .
jeff and will broke a pitman arm sat morning and as far as i know retired .
steve pickering and darren were doing it tough but you got to give them A for effort .
a white gq ute went over but was able to continue after some repairs and danny moore also rolled and then the tree they were winching off fell down on top of them .
