Suspension advice (shocks)

Post by nicbeer »

I was thinking of doing a lift and west coast suspension kit but am wondering what shocks everybody are using. I will be only going 2" but maybe climax on the rear sometime.

cheers

Nic

nic,

do the suspension mods and then ramp it without shocks. find out how much compression and droop you have. then take these measurement along with the standard ride height measurement to your local supercheap or shock stockist and get something that will match that.

Nic ,
at the moment I have a reverse shackle , incorporating rear springs , & am using rear shocks from a celica !! they are longer by 5-10mm than my full flex !!!!
on the rear Ive moved my top mount up & in !! & use explorer shocks !!!
(soft on an explorer , but great on my zook !!!) :P :P

I am using Old Man Emu 2.5" rear springs all round with 2" extended shackles and 3/4 eliptic rear. With those suspension mods I'm running Rancho 9012s in the rear and Old Man Emu racing Buggy shocks in the front. I get heaps of travel and a nice ride out of this combo. The shocks are mounted on custom crossmember in the rear and extended shockk mounts in the front (basically about 2" longer and angled up to the back of the inner fender

I'll see what I can do, what exactly do you want to see in detail?

just the extended shock towers in relation to the chassis.

I'm gunna have to shove 9012's under mine, although I've been told that VN commodore and another brand that Dino uses should be long enough for 30"+ travel.

Blair

I don't know the part number sorry I got them out of a clearance bin at ARB a couple of years ago. The length is about the same as my Rancho 9012s
