Ok I`m more then interested as I have allways loved this event.

One question but. Is only B pillar protection still need or is it now A pillar aswell? I only have the roll bars on the tray this is why I ask. If it is only B pillar then I will be in.

There are no restrictions on your vehicle. It only has to be registered, have a winch, at least 34" tyres and lockers are recommended. Whatever else you have fixed on your vehicle is up to you, we will accept you.

It doesn't matter if you have a roll bar or not, you can enter.

I await your entry form "guts".

Guys - (& Gals) We are planning the tracks (Got Permissions now too). Thinking along the lines of N15, Burnt Camp, Abbot Link, Dp Creeks, etc. Have you got any favourites you want to see in it?

Perhaps as a special stage we could tow Birdy's truck a long way at night after a long search for it with not many clues other than he is on one of the Deep Creek Tracks.

Oy yeah that was the first Nav Run.

I had forgotten how good Deep creek 1 was. It's better doing it the way we went last night rather than the way we done it in that navrun up there. Oops that's right, we weren't meant to go down DC! in that navrun!!!!

Maybe do a complete Deep creek package deal. Make the stage run 4,2 and 1 or something.

Hobzee and I were laughing about this on Friday and also a discussion on the two car teams vs. single.

What do you guys think?

I would like to see two car navigation through the bush etc but single cars for the 4 special stages. Having competed, marshalled and recovered in both formats think that this is the go.

I reckon the two car thing would be better.
maybe
I dunno.
Whatever.
If you done the two car thing for the nav and single car for specials then how do you score it?
the whole thing as a team or seperate nav to specials?

I would prefer to see 2 car teams for this event, that is how it has always been run. A lot of the competitors i spoke to who have done the simex before would also prefer the 2 car team concept.

There always seems to be a bit of carnage/ repairs/ retirements at the Simex and its good to have a second car when your repairing or recovering. But individual times for the SS's would be great.

Having done all previous Simex/Yarraman Pursuits I think a two-car team event would be better thing

Two car teams are the go as its safer, you need to drive smarter to ensure you keep the 4b's going as you dont want to let the other 1/2 of the team down. I have throughly enjoyed all the 2 4B events in the past as after the Simex stopped the Navnites filled in some of the gap in the harder core type events for 2 4B's now they have gone single. Still keeps the same number of entrants just halves the number of teams. Adjust the entry to suit. :!:

The PajChall on the weekend jarred the memory about a few others aswell,.....S track with the easier options bunted off.......a little side track that i think was on Gladstone track............ reopen the old part of Flats track......... still wish Trig and Deep Creek 1 were how they used to be!

And definitely should be 2 CAR TEAMS!!!!
Nothing like belting along a steep slippery track 2 metres behind another car while under the stopwatch!!! NUTS!!!

Hey guys, Speaking to Hobzee as I write this. He's considering the option of changing to 2 vehicle teams based on the numbers of competitors who would prefer this  But he doesn't want to count out/disappoint those who would prefer a 1 vehicle team event.

So basically if you would prefer a single vehicle event nows the time speak up like others are doing.

We also spoke about the timing of the event and the fact that some clubs/competitors already have commitments on the Queen's Birthday weekend (On Track and Vic All Terrain are 2 clubs who are heavily involved in events with large numbers and have commitments already).

If it were to be held on another weekend it would mean that it would go back to the old format of a 24 hour event (All day Saturday and through the night to Sunday morning).

So once again it's up to those who want to do the event to speak up and if the event style can be changed then the majority will decide.

Please reply by quoting this post and add your vote to the relevent list and let the numbers decide ;)

One Vehicle Teams

Two Vehicle Teams

Queen's Birthday Weekend

Regular Weekend

No doubt he can't please everyone but would like to please the majority so take the time to vote and then stay tuned ;)
