Hi.
I have just bought a Pajero 3.0 GLS 1993 SWB,
coils springs rear and front.
It`s now running on 31" tires.
I now want to make a moderate 2" suspension lift and perhaps use 33" tires..
Is there some other companies "down under" then ARB?
Pls provide some good sites/links
I`m also intrested of other 4x4 parts to Pajero
How do i do this easiest?
I saw at an other forum that you could place 2 "pads"under the springs,
does any one have some exoeriences round that?

theres plenty of shorties on here, and most have atleast 2" lift and 33s im pretty certain, theres me, dan (miyagi), blair (noisey), scott (njswb), (greggo) and then theres (overkill) and his brother, J TOP, heaps mate, heres a piccy of mine with LWB springs from a Pajero in the rear and front wopund up, 2" lift, with 33x12.5x15 JT2s, which were more like 34s,

i bought them second hand, i was looking for them new aswell a little while ago and noone was doing anything under a 36 in anything simex in either the JT2 or the ET2, but iv since sold them anyways, theyre waaaaaaaaaay too noisy for the amount of road driving i do awesome tyre though

Hey Jan, what do you mean by diffbrake? I think you are talking about a limited slip diff. If so and you want to know if it is a LSD, you can check the rear of the diff housing and it should have a sticker on it. If not and its like mine (came off with a water blaster) you can jack the rear up on a flat section by the diff head housing so that both rear wheels are off the ground, and turn one of the wheels. If both wheels turn in the same direction you have a LSD, if one wheel turns forward and the other back, spend some coin and get a locker. If its a LSD and you use the handbrake at the same time and the right time, you can get results just like that of a Locker. Still not as good though.
Regarding the lift for 33" tyres, you can use pads but all they give is your rear height, no real performance increase, aftermarket springs would be better (for performance), increase the height of the front by turning up the Torsion bars. You could look at doing a body lift, 50mm and you could put 33's under.
Lots of options, most depend on your diy skills and budget. klrevo truck looks good and he's a Uni student but works on it himself (read his threads) so if you have a little diy skills you can make an awesome rig.

ill be the first to reply to your questions with the way iv faced them,
- with the LWB pajero springs in the back and then tb wound up in the front i have not had the need to replace anything else.
- definitely get a wheel alignment afterwards
- i had 15x7 alloy rims with 31" Cooper STs on them, when i went 33" tyres i sold them and bought 15x8 steel rims in a LANDCRUISER offset and they work beautifully, no scrubs on anything, not even at full lock and full articulation, not that there is much with jabbers im not the only one running this offset wheel on here, but some are running others also i think...
- i use mine every single day for road driving, i depend on it for university and also work, and i keep the 33"s on the car all the time. depending on the tyre i think will be your biggest problem, the more aggressive the tread, the worse theyll be on the road presumingly. Thats why i sold the JT2s. too noisy and too rouygh, unpredictable, dangerous in the wet. The 33" Nankang Mudstars are almost silent in comparison, they drive well and are very good on the road, similar tread patern to the BFG muddy i guess. Other notices will be take off, and braking, and the amount your speedo goes out, mine is out about 6% apparently, taken from those odometer distance checks on the freeway, out 300m over 5km. I thought it was more like about 13% but apparently not.

...make sure your gearbox is in neutral. If you leave it in gear the tailshaft can't turn, so the wheels MUST turn in opposite directions. But an LSD will be much harder to turn like this. i just bought 'LWB springs' from the wreckers, they gave about 2" of lift, but have since settled lower, i think some 2" lift specific either for LWB or SWB will do much better with a new shock choice also.
the rims i bougth second hand, and are a generic 'landcruiser' offset, from memory theyre about 81mm/3.25" from the face of the lip where the bead sits on the outer edge, to the face where they bolt up to the wheels studs.
as far as the torsion bar front end, have a search around here in the mitsi section, 4x4wire.com, pajeroclub.com.au, pocuk.net, theres plenty of articles, but as scott has pointed out, the adjusting screw on the crossmember about under the rear seats, theres a locking nut on the top, 17mm, undo that, undo the first nut, wind up the adjusting screw, righty tighty lefty loosy, with the front of the car jacked up off the ground, and then lock it off, let it down, measure before and after, and adjust accoringly, it takes a few turns to get 1", about 12 from memory, so it can take a bit, make sure you measure, and jack the front up, and lock it all off when done, not too hard at all, re-indexing the torsion bars when you run out of travel has got me, but i asked on ehre and someone did eventually respond to which way to turn them, any problems jan im sure if you ask people will help, or else call you a jackass
