It would be fine. I am using 10mm Amsteel Blue for my LWB GQ which would be similar in weight. From what I have researched the ropes are similar but check their breaking strain, they can differ from brand to brand. :? You can't beat the price I paid for Amsteel Blue $429 delivered.

I can get 30m of unspliced dyneema rope (without hook, thimble and line protector) for AUS$240 delivered and with taxes included!
what is the length of the line protector included on your Amsteel Blue?

The rope Bru is talking about is what I recently used at the XWC and it is awsome. Not even the protective sheath which covers 100% of the rope was frayed in any way. And the supplier does an awsome job at splicing it. I have sold heaps of the stuff with out one complaint from a customer.

I can supply photos if you like.

There are lots of it for sale in numerous sizes and colours.
Allmost all climbing material is ready to send to the trash bin after 5 years, even if its unused. So, if you find a shop who has old webbing in stock, you can get it at a really low price!
Thanks for that.
I will now call it webbing.
Just bought 1" webbing 10m for $5.00 on ebay.

Cheers

I'm using 10mm Dynamica. I have 50m on my 8274 with the standard drum. I compete in the NZ winch comps and have not had any problems with too much rope. I've now mid mounted the winch and the rope feeds on even better, to the point I'm considering more rope. I had the rope I used for the Kiwi Challenge, tested to destruction, and even though I thought it was completely stuffed it still didn't break untill over 5000kgs. I'm onto my 3rd rope now and will not use steel at all. I have some sleave over my practice rope where I shackle the hook on but I'm not going to bother in future as you wear the rope out before it becomes a problem anyway. I am using a sleeve on the rope, that can be slide up to protect from rocks etc, but this can only be used for practice, as NZ rules don't allow you to touch the rope once conected.
For anyone that is interested Cookes (NZ) sell this for NZ$8.65 per metre +gst. Not sure of exchange rate but it sounds cheaper than $429.
