GQ Gearbox Noise

Post by Dicko1980 »

I have a 94 GQ Cab Chassis ute that has now developed a noticble chatter from the gearbox when idling. If I push the clutch in the noise disapears. I am wondering what this problem could be and is going to be a major job?

Thanks

if your clutch is fucked the springs in the clutch plate will rattle, sound like what the problem will be. has your clutch been slipping, etc?

Yeah the noise definately sounds like a noisy bearing from the front of the gearbox. The ute has only done 202000 and the clutch was replaced at 160000 before I bought the vehicle. I have since turboed the ute at 180000. Would this have anything to due with premature failure of the bearing?
