a 2L-T is already turboed

or are you talking about a 2L (2.4 litre NA diesel)?

or are you talking about some other 2 litre motor?

aftermarket turbo kits start around the $2200 mark, or if you have booty fab skills you can do a custom turbo setup for under $1000 on just about any motor.

Ive done a turbo set up couple years ago on a hilux, 22r petrol motor.
Oooh it is worth it, no internal engine mods and it doubled its KW at the wheels! Mainly ran lpg as couldnt stop it from pinging on petrol.

That also was a early 90`s model, a bit trickier with something newer and fuel injected, just bumps your cost up a bit.

As for diesels, i shouldnt imagine it be that much differant to do.

so it's a 3Y motor? you could do a dray-through setup with an SU or Stromberg CD type carburettor probably under $1000 with some fabrication skills, then you have to spend some time fiddling with the carb to get it to run well. the available power gain is small though - without internal modification a 3Y will melt with more than 4 - 5psi boost. that will give you about 30% more power - hardly worth the effort. an engine swap would be far better value for money.
