IFS Rears

Post by beebee »

Guys, anyone running IFS rears in their hilux? I've checked them out but don't know whether I should be getting ones from a single/dual or an extra cab as each has a different length I believe? Another thing is which leaves should I retain. My thoughts are 1st, 2nd and 4th as this is what I think Ruff had but I can't really remember. Should I run a 5 or 6 leaf pack?

Also, I know that the front eye that fits into the hanger has a different bush setup from the leaf spring lux's. What do I do to get around it? Run an IFS bolt with a plate from a leafy?

I hope someone can help as I'm looking to fit these tomorrow!

i believe the springs bolt in - the bushes are different but have no effect - all ifs rear springs in the latest model are the correct length - only x-cabs in the previous shape (89-97) are longer

dont quote

also - cutting it a bit fine for XRCC arn't you?

Sorry dave ive been real busy.
The spring mix you are talking sounds right and the pin is the right way to do it as well and All IFS springs are the same length exept the early 4runners like Bubs's shape.I think you will need 6 leaves to get enough lift to match your front.

Thanks Ruff, I'll see how they go! And I've only got a 4 leaf front pack but I think yours is 5 from memory?

Bubs, I won't be entering XRCC anymore. There was just too many mods to complete in a short amount of time. I will be going up to spectate on Sat and was toying witn the idea of entering some events seeing as I've already paid the fees and organised 3rd party ext but I don't think I'll even be ready for that. For starters, I need to orgainse a front tailshaft let alone the sliders, front bar, winch, tray and rear suspension! Although I am intending to have the sliders and the suspension finished by Saturday, I doubt I'll be up early enough to be at LMP in time for scruitineering. And then there's that front shaft! I have two shafts here but I need to have them extended a few inches so if anyone's offering........give me a call! 0427 182 669
