Post by Hardzy »

i have just purchased a 83 model hilux single cab with a tray back. it has a 2 inch susp. lift. i wanted to do a spring over conversion, 3 inch body lift, 35 inch tyres and a bull bars and lights. does anyone have anything to tell me about these modifacations. i will take every bit of advice as i have never modified a 4x4 myself, i have only purchased them. any one with any recomendations of anywhere to get it done around newcastle will also be a huge help. thanks

Hiluxs are sprung over.

You can get away with just the spring lift to clear 35's if you trim the guards and maybe move the diff forward a little. No need for a body lift.

4AGZE won't have the punch you need in a hilux. great in a zook tho. is it RWD or FWD. what you need to do is buy a KE70 corolla put the 4AGZE in that and then weld the diff
to tell if your car is sprung over have a look to see whether the leaves sit on top of the diff or underneath it.
