1 litre gearbox mods

i've got a 1 litre 95 mariti stockman with a 4 speed box that shat itself this mornin i'm wonderin if i can adapt a 1.3l 5 speed or is it to much work to bother with and should just get another 4 speed .i've only got the weekend to do the job need the truck to get to work on monday.

4 speed is your best bet. The gear shifter holes in the transmission tunnel are different on the 1.3L 5sp, and the bellhousing will require an adapter.

I'll buy your g'box for $50 if you don't want it.

hold that thought gutless pulled out gbox yesterday and the universal joint from the g box to tcase is completly shitted gbox may be ok.out of curiosity looking to do a power upgrade need to be able to tow a builders trailer and the 1l is flat out pulling itself what would you suggest

The best option would be a 1.6EFI vit motor and sierra 5sp, but you could settle for a 1.6 carb or 1.3 sierra motor too.

Either way you will need to run the sierra 5sp. It IS worth the time to do this conversion.
