It all depends on a few things........

Does it have ifs? Does it have a anti-gravity button?

What's the wheelbase? Have you checked the headlight bearings?

Does it have blow off valves? How many letters in the alphabet?

Is it a patrol???

I thought what he asked was resonable. So stop being a tosser.

chnr = chronoligical order.
This guy thinks he may have one of the very orginal MQ's. Would be very cool if you find out it is a predelivery spec patrol. As it may have some slight differences with a production model. As for finding out via the vin number. Just wondering if something off http://phatg20.net/modules.php?name=Dow ... load&cid=1
wondering if one of the downloads of there will have an answer.

Well a 4 litre MQ is one of the early ones, so maybe it's a little earlier than you thought. Good luck with your search

My parts book is from Aus.

So I guess it is possible it just covers Aussie Patrols. 600079 is the first number listed. But obviously they didn't start the number run at 600079. My guess is the first was 600000 or 600001. I guess it is possible the first 78 MQ's were demo rigs or something similar. Wouldn't suprise me at all it the 78 MQ's were sent all over the world for showroom floors and things like safty testing. Ie, they got crashed and so forth a long time ago like prior to normal production.

By your vin # I would say your's is one of these 78 Patrols.....

My father bought a pre delivery one late 79 (was told it was the first SOLD (but maybe dealer lied), but not necessarily the earliest number) but i dont have a number as it was sold around 10 years ago, it was a diesel and from my memory pretty much the same as my 82 model (except L28).
