suzi mods
I think the most bassic mod i did was to remove the sway bay and get some extended shackles made up(The steel for the shackles cost $7 or $9) but i also have all the lockers and stuff to go with it. But i have 30's and will need rockhopers soon.
Built swb sierra, building a lwb sierra ute and have a dmax for family camping

What do you want to do with the car?
what type of terrain do you want to drive?
how much money do you want to spend on it?
do you have any mechanical skills and/or tools?
Is the car currently stock or has it been modified already?

have a search through the bible section and a general search through the Suzuki and members section.
Then you need to define what you mean by best. Best reliabilty, best price, best extreme offroad monster way cool flexy truck, etc etc. Also you may want to do a search on legalities issues as what you can do in NSW isn't always what you can do in QLD.
There is a heap of info on here thhat can be uncovered by spending the time to read and search. Then you can expand that info with questions on the board.
I'm not trying to be a dick about this, just saying the info is there but you need to spend the time and really work out what you want to know.

sierrajim is right on the money fjshitbox I have just started this suzuki caper with the missus and there is so many diffrent rigs out their from the rock hoppers to the mud bashing to sand driving etc.... What I have noticed in our neck of the woods (this is my only my opinion) that all I needed (apart from a heap of dough) was a lift kit good suspension and a good set of tyres I was comfortable with 30" BFG mud/snow. But it did not stop their I replaced the spark plugs with iridium type new leads dizzy cap rotor new air filter new fuel filter replaced the oil filter new oil. About to replace the diff oils and tranfer and the gear box and bleed the brakes... But the benalla boys know their mechnical stuff backwards so you wont have any hassles... All the above mods were bloody basic and the zook can travel at 110k/ph easy in 5th! yes I have a gps to tell me.

Sierras are very different to other 4wds and basic mods to make them capable are very different than what you would do to a GQTinyGQ wrote:mate who cares about all that crap, not so sure abot sierras but surly there the same as all 4x4's, go with the basics firsti reckon.

the best mod you can do is drive it,
go out into the bush and you'll learn how to drive and what mods are needed. use every trip as a development program, the short comings will come to the surface quickly, and then change as you go.
this will give you the most rewarding exparience, and it's heaps of fun
