60 series oli pressure gauge hassles

Post by My8612HT »

In my 61 Series with 12HT, the oil gauge does not move beyond the 1/2 & 3/4 mark when the engine is operating, either hot or cold, I have replaced the sender twice and both times with new genuine items and still no luck, I replaced the dash gauge and still the same thing.
Is there something I'm not doing properly?

maybe the gauge isnt meant to go that high...my original oil pressure gauge never went that high either (2H)....but I have since added an aftermarket gauge and the pressures are spot on.

Just because your speedo goes to 160km/hr...doesnt really mean that your truck will do that speed....get my drift ;)

I appreciate what youre saying, its just that on my previous 60 series with a 2H the oil pressure gauge worked the entire length of the gauge and I was under the impression (probably falsely) that this one would work the same way too!

BTW my speedo goes up to 180k and I have come pretty close to it on a downhill and with a stiff tail wind! LOL ;)
