friday night fester rolled and the vehicle sent to recover him rolled as well .
the tracks were very steep not much driving but a hell of a lot of winching.
al tierney was going pretty well as well as fester and piglet .
jeff and will broke a pitman arm sat morning and as far as i know retired .
steve pickering and darren were doing it tough but you got to give them A for effort .
a white gq ute went over but was able to continue after some repairs and danny moore also rolled and then the tree they were winching off fell down on top of them .
Jeff & Will fixed their car and kept going to finish the weekend,
Danny was co-driving for Julie when they rolled, but then whilst Danny was driving they had a HUGE rollover on Sunday, the guys were all set to do a self recovery and continue until they realised they had actually ended up on a completely seperate stage and had to DNF due to 4 wheels out of course. Would definatly have to be the play of the day!!!!! (or weekend?)

What a great weekend!
Had an absolute ball. GO THE WAGON!!!!  :D
Top effort and a big thumbs up to Lance, Mick and Scotty for picking some ripper stages and having it run so smoothly..... Glen and Anita for their professional recovery and rescue efforts.... and all the competitors who got in and gave it their best.
There were some very impressive drives and some fantastic 'never give up' attitudes throughout the weekend.
From a spectators point of view, there were plenty of vantage points along the courses to watch all the action. So if you were a bit unsure of this and opted not to come this time round... make sure you get up there for the action of Round 2. You'll love it.

Cheers,
Ryano

Oh, and Fester..... we're gonna kick your ass Round 2!! :finger: :D

First winch challenge for Darren and me, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tracks were pretty tough - particularly for us newcomers.

All the organisers, officials and other competitors were great. Darren nearly died on our first real stage. Didn't know whether he'd be able to recover to do any of the other stages. He improved enough to continue and we learnt so much and he continued to give his all which I really appreciate. Unfortunately we lost brakes with 2 stages to go and had to DNF stage 9 and 10.

Like to say a big thanks to Fester for helping us diagnose the master cylinder problem after we managed to get a spare brake hose to replace the split one and we still couldn't get any pedal pressure. An even bigger thanks go to Greg from Townsville who not only gave us the brake hose but then let us take the master cylinder off his comp truck so we could drive home. The spirit of this comp and the generosity of the other teams with not just spares but also their advice and assistance was excellent.

We should be back for round 2. Look forward to seeing photos from this round - we didn't manage to get many of us in action (or of Darren collapsed on his arse!).

Congrat's to all the stage winners and the round winners in both classes.

last ones, sorry they're a bit self indulgent - didn't get time to take many pics but asked others to grab some of us.

Awesome pics!!!

What a great weekend, Lance and the team set up some really gnarly stages. I have never seen so many side angles before, I don't know how Lance can dream up these courses.

In a wagon they can be pretty scary. Congratulations to the QLD winch challenge, the event was really well run and the level of competitors there were tops.

Being new to the comp scene it is fantastic to compete with and learn from the guys that competed.

Looking forward to the next one,

Jane

Sam, cool photo's. Can't wait for my disc in the mail.

What a great weekend it was, i have to admit i'm real suprised to win 7 stages as the competition in Winch Challenge Class especially was up there with 14 or so entrants.

Thanks again to Lance and all his officials for organising such a great event.

Go the EFS SUSPENSION and those awesome SILVERSTONE XTREMES!!!!

We copped our first penalty as a team in one of them... The stages were pretty hard core, great fun to compete on. No speed stuff, just side slopes/tight corners/big hills that kind of thing. I bet it was hard watching Tuff 355 but good on you for getting out there and having a look.

Ryano, i know you were secretly checking out the Silverstones... ;)

Alright Al..... I was secretly checking out your Silverstones!!!
I was also checking out you... your driving style that is. :D I think that the Silverys suit your style of driving and it's pretty obvious you are comfortable and confident in the way they drive.
It's great to watch a driver/navi/vehicle/tyre/suspension combo all coming together.

Cheers,
Ryano

P.S - I sell Silverys too.

Congratulations to all the winners in both classes.

Thanks to all the organises and officials that make this event one of the best I've been to.

Also thanks to everyone who has helped Wil and myself as we try to adapt to the winching events with your advice and experience.

A special thanks to Fester and Jason for lending us his 6hp warn motor so we could make some comparisons agains the crap motor we were using.

Looking forward to improving at round 2. Can't wait!

Recommend everyone purchases a photo disc off Jasam
(awesome photos)
