Guys,
I was playing with the front diff actuator solinoids and I have found that by grounding the right wire with a switch, I can have Low range 2WD
Just engage low range and flick the switch and the front diff lets go
Might be handy for the boaties wanting to have low range on the boat ramp with out the wind up!!

Glen,
Actually when the left front axle is diconnected there is no front drive as the planetry diff gears free wheel just the same as when you're in 2wd drive mode, the only difference being ,in Ian and My system, is the front propshaft, crownwheel and pinion turn with the transfercase.

I agree. I like the idea of a switch on the dash for 2wd/4wd. If you've already got the manual hubs, that's a solution. If you don't want them, the switch is cheaper and easier.Adomw wrote:Glen,

What I want is low range FWD.
Too bad I don't think you can do it with our shift rails in the tcase.
It would be awesome to unlock the rear locker, lock one of the rear brakes up with a line lock, and do a front dig to spin the truck around on the locked rear tire. No more ten point turns!!!!
