Surf lift kit

Does any one know how high you can lift a 92 surf with independant front and Coil/Spring rear.

what about a ifs lift kit ? mate just fitted one to his ifs with leaf sprung rear end sr5 hilux

and just to had to fit a rear leaf pack to match

Depends what you want to do... and how much cash you have to spend.

3" front is acheivable with a torsion bar wind up and a spacer kit to give you more down travel and releive cv angles.

4" rear is also simple, springs, adj pnahard and shocks to suit.

There is a bloke here in vic running 35 claws still with IFS (uses a superlift kit imported from the states)

For 33"s all youd need is 2" spring, 2" body, and change diff ratios to 4.88 and youd be laughing.

thanks for the information boys, but does any one know prices? I have a young one so as you might know the cash flow is kinda restricted. A mate of mine told me that you could fit a 5 inch lift second hand for around 1G if you install it yourself is this correct or is he bullshiting.

a mate of mine has put a 2" lift into his surf (91 import) , removed the rear sway bar & is running 33s. they scrub on full lock, but were confident if they were 11.5s not 12.5s hed be sweet all round. He also added some Rancho RS900s, & simply, everyone he goes driving with, he amazes. He aint that good a driver yet either. Its also a 2.4 TD Auto with a limo in the rear. But for less than $1000 on suspension, hes laughing.

he was looking at the "skyjacker"? spacer/drop down kit for the front, but a mechanic mate talked him out of it as hes seen many tear themselves apart & destroy diffs. He recommended doing a SAS instead.

I've got mine lifted 7 1/2 inches on 33 claws. Its got 2'' body, 4'' pro comp kit and 1 1/2 inches in the torsion bars.

With the 2inch lift, does the surf have good anough walking distance to go through extreem tracks or is it fairly limmited? The other question i have is, what happens if you remove the rear stab bar? will it get more walking height?

our mate was saying that his mate put it on, then blew a diff the next two trips, done some reinforcing, then blew a 3rd. All on tracks he had already done without it. I think he said their was also some other damage which just happened coincidently after the drop down kit went it. Last i heard he was at 6.5k, with a broken truck, & was spewing about not getting the SAS done for 5k.
As for the 2" lift he did, you still have to be mindful of the underneath, but for a car that still handles well on road, & is capable of driving some good B grade tracks, its a nice balance. Removing the rear sway bar did help the travel noticeably.
