Should I buy it?????????

Post by shortgq »

I own a SWB tb42 Mav and needless to say its not the most efficient daily driver so i've been considering a second small car for some time.... have been looking at an f20 or similiar and wondering whther it would suit for daily short commute 16km's and occassionally on straddy and moreton.... the mav can be kept for touring, towing boat or more serious off road.... anyways on way home tonight pull in behind f20 which has 4 sale sign on it..... $500 on GAS.... is this true??? it is I follow him home and its geniune. 500 no rego, can't be that bad i followed it home, no smoke it stopped and turned.... he said 1000 with rego and gas certificate.....

what do ya think.... what are these things like on sand.... and parts????

Cheers

btw its a 2 seater 20lV 77 model

well, ya got no scat replies so heresone from a rocky driver

I get between 10-12L/100ks, 2.8Diesel weighing quite a bit more than a scat, mines OK on sand, but i'd say the scat would be better just cause its lighter. Getting parts shouldn't be too hard, but pretty much no after market mods, its all DIY. I'd say if you know how to check for all the usuall mechanical things, and its ok, get it, 1000 with rego + gas is good for any car IMO if its got no serious probs. And if sumthing happens, you'll have a decent base for a buggy :D

p.s most F20's need some work or they are priced highly because the work has been done mostly its body like a bit of rust

mechanically they go for ever i recon
the only prob with mine was a dodgy head gasket replacement previously in one of its many owners and its now coming round to bit me on the ass
btw mine has 370,000 on the clock and still going just the motor is starting to show some age

cheers
