Luck with Auto Alliance, Yes & No. No because they said what I have is what iv'e got and tough shit. Yes because Kirk suggested I take the adjusters out and try them without them.

The little adjusting pistons are held in with a circlip and can't come out with the adjusting knob taken off. I drove to work like this today and the rears are a little softer, near enough to being right :) just a tad firmer than what I would call spot on. Maybe with a bit of use they will get softer. The trick now is to measure the installation size of the plastic 9 position adjusters and either fit a spacer under them or file the adjusting pin to a slightly shorter length to get the same ride.

I would of course prefer more under adjustment for off road but as Auto Alliance said. What I got is all I'm gunna get. :finger:

Would I spend $700 on a new set :?: Yep if I owned a bigger Fourby but not for a Feroza. What the heck these ones fitted will more than likely outlast Roza 10 times over and they give a very stable ride.

Tried to get some info on my rear Rancho's by e-mailing Rancho in the states. Received a reply. " What ya got is what ya gunna get ". :finger: :finger: :finger:

They seem to have settled down a bit and not to bad on the road, real good in fact for highway travelling. Just would like to make them a bit softer off road. :cry:

Hmmm. Rancho could do with some lessons on "customer service"!

My Bilsteins (now fitted both front and rear) have softened a bit from when first installed too. After fitting the rears it now turns into corners on the bitumen a lot better and the ride is very good. Haven't taken it off road since they were fitted, but it certainly looks like it will be a big improvement. The rears are 1-2" longer fully extended than the factory shocks too.

Are Ranchos rebuildable at all? If so a shock specialist should be able to pull them apart and revalve them for you.

Rod Santos has moved on to a Nissan Patrol shortie and he gave :D :D :D me his rear Rancho's RS9115 to try on Roza in place of the RS99117 I've been posting about.

Can say the RS9115 shocks are a bit softer and I can run them on position 3 on the road. ( I exchanged the 5 position adjusters with the 9 position so I have 9 adjustments on the RS9115 ). :D :D :D

Only problem is the length of the body is about 20mm longer from pin centre to the top of the shock. :cry: :cry: and there is evidence of the shocks having been bottomed out on Rods Feroza. Will have to wait and see. The good point is now I have some down adjustment for off road work.

The question is. Would I buy Rancho's for my Feroza again? The answer is a qualified NO. No because while they are a great shock and Auto Allience give good service Rancho do not make a shoch to suit Feroza's. They make a shock which will fit a Feroza. :roll: :roll:
