Before people ask M Ellem even asked me to link some pics here.
For those of you that didn`t get to see it this is the axle that Glen and Sam made, yes it held up just fine for all 3 stages on Sunday

Guy, we shall try to get information boards up about each competing vehicle, explaining the componentry of the cars and place those boards in a central location (possibly by the Oz Rock Tent) and hopefully a single map at the same place showing where the tracks are and also the best vantage points to see the best action. This will be difficult as the stages change each round, but we shall try our best.

We should give credit where credit is due and the guys from Cheezy Racing & Co have done a top job. This was one event with non stop extreme action and it should be on Everyones calendar, even for you guys north of the border.It was well organize and executed. The event was hard and some people thought it was too hard but I believe it was time to challenge us all and make us step up. So bring on the challenge again cos in 12mth these type of courses will probably be norm .
Pete & Tazz set the standard, pushed the limits and deserved their win, but don’t get use to it fellas because surely that buggy cant hold up to that abuse you put it through all the time

Yes, sponsors are integral to the survival of the sport...but not more so than spectators. Afterall, what would be the point of having 200 stickers on your buggy if no one were there to see them.
In the U.S. the teams really push the promotion of the numbers. They don't take up much room.
At worst, you could fab a sign that clamps onto your frame work to display your number.

Adrian I think your direction is the logical & best option, just not on the roof or side panels as suggested previously.
Not that I can see it been an issue in Rockcrawling, last year we used the flag to good effect at Tuff Truck until one marshal said we should not have anything extruding from the vehicle and then one time while Gonads was in an off camber situation the flag touched the bunting and cost him points.

We decided to take a bit of a gamble with how hard the tracks were and from all the feed back we have had it has payed off more then we ever thought it would. Walbundire has even harder stuff there as you would of seen if you had a look around the place but the sport isn`t ready for stuff that hard just yet. Like you said maybe in 12 months time it will be
I can`t say we will always have tracks as hard as round 1 but I can tell you we will be trying our hardest at every round to do just that.
The tracks were unreal, the terrain has so much potential. I didn't think stage 1 on sunday was un-driveable, it's just that alot of people had some bad luck (?) with fluid spills and such...
If everyone had kept their fluids in the tanks and catch cans, and buggies had run ok on the steep angles, I reckon someone would have driven it.
And I tell ya what, I have to agree with Sean... after seeing the punishment from the courses on the w/e, everyone is gunna see the benefit of buildig a rig strong and dependable. You break you lose... pretty much that simple.

Oh, and on the numbers - I like the flexible speedway setup... I think numbers will be good for spectators, and takes away the guesswork (ie. which one is team wombat? The red one or the blue one? Oh, number 22...). This is the way we will go I think.
Talking with folks in the crowd and around town the feedback was mostly very positive. Here are a few comments from around tha traps:
* Discount for a 2 day pass would be good
* Set stages so that people can finish... it confused alot of spectators that people don't finish stages. Easy to say, but maybe we need to think about more bonus lines, so most people can finish, but there is more room for strategy and really turning up the heat if you are game...
* There was a leaflet handed out at the entry - include one with a simple breakdown of the rules and what rockcrawling is - maybe print it on the back of a flier for the next round
* A few people still commented that there were too many yellow vests blocking the view... I thought it was better than in the past, but it sure gave me a different perspective from the other side of the bunting. If you are in a vest, do what you can to stay out of the way of spectators (within reason of course).
* Recoveries - they were slow at times, but the major problem in my opinion was that there were 6 people all saying to do something different. There should be 1 marshal controlling the recovery, and that person should talk with the spotter and driver.
