ORI where the only place that i knew of that did the hi steer for the MQ/MK, they are no longer around. So it will be fun to find someone to make one nad being a one off, they will be expensive. If you are looking at doing a soa, you can look at using a 60 serries landcrusier front diff and there hi steer set up.
I thought the 60's didnt come out with nice ratio's like a 4.6,etc. I am probably wrong again.
I like having a nice slow ratio with my diesel as you cant get reduction gears for the transfer in a MQ/MK
Ive thoought about a dana diff, etc as well, but its still going to be cheaper to get a high steer made for the mq diff

I emailed these blokes :

and they quote me $2000us for 5 pairs. so thats $400us a set. A bit pricey, but itll relocate the tie rod to the rear as well.

make the toyota flavor hi-steer. At this time I
have about 500 sets out there.
I might sell 10 or 20 sets of patrol arms.

project it's just not worth doing unless theres
some quantity happening. ever think about
swapping to a toyota axle?

I dont think screwy has had many dramas with his high steer bolted to the 4 bolts on the cap. He put bigger threads on though.
Im definatly gunna try and have the tie rod up outta the way though. Time is my friend but maybe not yours Madzuki. Once you do your sing out so we can have a look see.

He uses a ORI hi steer arm like me. They are only held on by the 4 top bolts. Have a look at the pics below, Axel from Fiinland isnt running a high steer set up. I Pm'd him and he said his steering is all Stock. I didnt think it was possible. What do ya's reckon. Could i do it in the short term till i got around to doing a high steer set up.

The ORI arm taps the bolts out and runs studs.... it also uses cone washers and spring washers and nuts...
if you weld an arm straight to the kingpin cap the bloody bolts allways come loose....
what you want to do is get a standard pitman arm from any MQ/MK steering box and cut it in such a way that you can flip it upside down and weld it onto the top of the kingpin cap. you then weld a plate on the side of the cap that will pick up a couple of the bolts on the swivel hub that bolt the wiper seal in.
these bolts will still come loose.... you can do one of a few things to keep that from happening... i would drill out and run a bigger stud and run cone washers.... the cone washers stop them from coming undone...
alternativel you could drill out the heads of the bolts and run wire through the middle to hold them.... or even put washers on all the bolts with tabs folded up over the bolt on one side to stop it from coming loose....
the biggest problem with any of these options is that welds in steering in such a way like that is not engineerable. I.E. engineers will not pass welds in main steering arms...
so your best bet it to have a full one piece one made.... but hell, any of the above would be fine and work well without dramas.... just not legal..... half the mods on ppls rigs arent legal anyway so your choice...

Your wrong there jeff.. Mine was engineered and it also NEVER came loose. All these arms come loose because they are designed wrong. they all have nothing to stop lateral movement so they work on the bolts or studs.
