Body Lift Implementation

Post by Nor »

Hi guys, when placing the body lift pucks in place, between the chassis and the cabin, do you remove the existing rubber spacers or no??

I am confused.

Plz help ASAP.

Thanks.

Nope Leave them in.

It is a good idea to replace them. they are what cause your clunks and knocks in the body

But won't that be a bit weird, having a 50mm aluminum block, and a 35mm rubber one on top of each other, between the body and the chassis?
Won't that be a bit unstable?

No it is quite stable because the lift block is pulled up tight against the body and can't move.

CRUSHU - the rubber body mounts need to both go under the block either side of the chassis mount.

What diameter is the material for the lift block? Wagon or shorty?

The rubber isolating mounts will have a crush tube in them, this tube determines how much compression is put on the rubber mount when the bolt is torqued up. Over time the rubber loses elasticity and crushes, causing all sorts of problems. Replace them if they look hammered.

Guys, one thing.
There is one rubber above the body, under the nut.
There is one under the chassis, between the head of the bolt and the body, and there is one between the chassis and the Body.

The first two are somewhat washers, but a bit thick ones.
The middle one is about 1.5"(3.5cms) thick.
I am thinking of removing that one, and putting a 3.5"(9cm) puck in it's place.

This way, I would have raised my car 3.5"-1.5"= 2" in total.

What do you experts think about this??????

This way, there would be (Rubber(washer)---Chassis---Aluminum Puck---Body---Rubber(washer)) all held together by 150 x 12mm bolts with nyloc nuts.

What you should have is the rubber body mount, the chassis, then the other half of the rubber body mount, then the aluminium body lift puck then the body
