Melbourne

Post by Bushman »

Hi, I am new to this forum. My partner and I are moving to Melbourne in August, so just want to say Hi and find out where the best people seem to be, and where the best off roading is.

I have been living in the UK since emigrating from Kenya in 1988. Have been off-roading for the last 3 years.

Well won't bore you with too many more words, photos are here http://www.dupree.co.uk.

I look forward to replies,

Regards

Jerry.

Look us up when you get to town.

Hi and welcome to Melbourne.
what part of Melb are you looking to move to.

Many places to go driving around Melb.
As noted above and dont forget the Otways only a couple hours from Melb.

Thanks for the responses guys.

We have family in both Altona and Lara, so will probably aim around there in the first instance.

I would like to join a club some time fairly soon, but wish to avoid the UK experience, where there are a lot of clubs registered, but only a small percentage of them are active and responsible. I know the scene is probably very different in Oz and less political, but would like to find clubs by reccomendation.

We plan to get hold of a vehicle sometime in the future, but first we will need to establish ourselves in jobs etc, then go from there. My brother has a Pajero, and has a little experience, so I know he will be keen, and pursuadable, to go out if the opportunity arises.

I would also like to get hold of a relatively cheap Series Landrover as a local runabout, does anyone know of any places to get these, and what they are worth in Oz? I can find little info on these, although I know they are there. Do you get Lightweight Landrovers out there?

Regards

Jerry.

If you can go to Lara.

There are a few good active clubs around these areas.

Geelong 4x4 club.
Weribee is ok to.

Best regards
