What is a Y60?

Post by Lil Suzi »

Looking at buying one but don't know much about them. How close are they to a GQ. It has a front axle seal leak. What is a fair price for these things. It has a 4.2 dieso and 5 speed, no air.

Any info would be great, thanks...

Y60 is a GQ patrol. Designated this on the compliance plate, but called a GQ. GQ = Good Quality :D

No idea on price in your local area.

Front axle leak - where the front driveshaft connects (pinion seal), around the diff centre itself (third member seal) or outer diff area, like on the brake backing plate (inner axle seal). All pretty easy to replace, depending how handy you are.

Model explanation (I'm assuming it's a wagon, with split bench rear seat)

WRGY60FM

W - Standard Height roof wagon
R - TD42 4.2L diesel motor
G - Long wheelbase
Y60 - model designation
F - 5 speed floor shift manual
M - Australia model
