aframe front suspension???

has anyone ever put a modified a frame from the reare of a rover onto the front and iff so what are they like on road



i am looking into this as an option but i am unsure of how stable it would be i may have to use a panhard rod also

but my main concern is what braking and cornering forces will do

Do you mean a panhard and the Aframe with the ball joint at the chassis end?

it is either that or 5 link as 4 link (2 lowers 1 upper and panhard )systems seem to have bad handling characteristics i am only in the research phase now as i will definately not rush into this one

that is 1 thought but also thought of ball at diff end with adjustable uppers(aframe) using a panhard to even out steering issues


prob with this is axle walk during suspension travel

Bill has a 3 Link (2lowers, 2 upper and a Panhard) in his truck, and has also set up another county with this setup.
Have a search as he has posted about it.

All depends on the setup as to the characteristics, if done properly they will behave extremly well :cool:

A-frame in the front will cause bad/dangerous roll steer on the highway. May change lanes as you go around curves at speed.

Will bind if you use a panhard with an A-frame.

a mate had a 5 linked rangie and had alot of binding issues but eventually sorted them out but compramised drivability on road but if prop set up cant see why it wouldnt work would love to see pictures of 3 and 5 link setups showing uper and lower mnts

Would the Rangie A-frame work in the front offroad ? and is it an easy conversion? wil it fit ?........ If the Rangie is only a toy for playing in the back paddock NOT for any on road use
