STEERING WHEEL OPTIONS FOR GQ
STEERING WHEEL OPTIONS FOR GQ
DOES ANYONE HAVE IDEAS AS TO WHAT OTHER NISSAN SPORTS STEERING WHEELS FIT ONTO A GQ? SOMETHING LIKE A SSS PULSAR OR SKYLINE ETC... THAT WOULD BOLT STRAIGHT ON.
SSS Pulsar is also meant to partially obscure your instruments. Depending on your height depends on what it hides.
I can't remember the shape of the pintara/skyline one from the same era but if it's only mounted at the bottom (like the dodgy old VK Commodore) steer clear of that.
For ford maverick people apparen ly the corsair one (nissan bluebird) is ok.

Yep Pulsar steering wheels fit nicely. Theres pics around here somewhere of mine, also shots camparing to the different size of the series 1 GQ wheel and the SSS pulsar wheel.smitty wrote:SSS pulsar fit ftraight on i have heard. Do a quick search. Im sure its been discussed before on here.
Only issue I have had is when I put it on my newer shorty the horn wouldnt work. But have since fixed that. Just need to lossen of 3 screws and hit it (these only hold the horn ring contact thingy). Steering wheel is bolted on as per usual.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....
ive got a 1991 nissan pulsar or pintara wheel on mine (can't remember which, but they both fit), its smaller and sits a fraction further away from the dash, and i also have the problem with the horn, but i know exactly what i need to do to fix it, real easy fix, just to lazy, $17 from the wreckers, in good condition, ie no slippy grip.

Is it the same problem I was having. Where the contact ring wasnt quite touching that brass button??marin wrote:ive got a 1991 nissan pulsar or pintara wheel on mine (can't remember which, but they both fit), its smaller and sits a fraction further away from the dash, and i also have the problem with the horn, but i know exactly what i need to do to fix it, real easy fix, just to lazy, $17 from the wreckers, in good condition, ie no slippy grip.

i think so, mine only works when the steering wheel is pretty close to straight, i know what i did wrong though, when putting the wheel on you need to trim down the plastic posts that the 3 screws go into, i trimmed them down too much, so i just need to space them back up with a washer or 2.turps wrote:Is it the same problem I was having.
