MQ/MK Rollbars with hard tops/soft tops
MQ/MK Rollbars with hard tops/soft tops
Anyone got a roll bar on their MQ/MK with a hard top/soft top? I'm asking because I'm looking into making a roll bar up but would also like to keep the hard top I have at the moment.
I'm also looking at making a soft top but I'm a little stumped when it comes to attaching it across the roof. If anyone has pics they could send me that would be great
Long story short, I want a roll bar but I still want to be able to fit and secure a hard top as well as a soft top.
Thanks gurus
Lewie

I had a roll bar on my MQ. It was more to hold up the roof cage however it still would have provided some protection in the event of a roll. I don't have any from the inside; however these pics should give you an idea on what it looked like.

Screwy, Dr Frankenstine and Kingy (I think) amongst others have soft-tops, I am looking into it too and would like to fit it to be able to retain the hardtop when I want to. I don't think it would be hard, in fact I reckon it'd be a hell of a lot easier than most cars. Start it up near the A-pillar, two coming down the B pillars. What I was thinking of then was having it run along the roof for a couple of feet until it is behind the rear seat then have it sloped down to near the bottom of the tailgate from there (i.e from about halfway along the canopy). I like the idea of being able to have 4 people in the car still, and the rollcage I'm thinking about should accomodate 4 people whether it's hardtop, softop on or softop off.
4130warrior thats EXACTLY what i want is to be able to have 4 people in the car no matter what. i was thinking alloy in bout 90-100mm pipe i've been looking for somewhere to get it done but no-one knows what i want or don't do that sort of stuff. but anyways just keep looking i suppose.

Yeah there was, 2 holes in the roof to allow the bolts through, the below pic shows this.ThirstyMQ wrote:By the look of the pics it dosn't look like there have been any mods to the canopy.

I like Big Red Toy's set up as I used mine more for carrying 2 people than 4.
