Disassemble the front bumper.

Post by Ippie »

I tried the Vitara Bible but couldn't find any details.

Can anyone tells me how to disassemble the original bumper and putting on a TJM steel bumper?

Million thx.

just crawl underneath. There will be a heap of brackets etc attatched to the bar. Just start undoing them. You will not harm anything by just taking bolts out ;) :D

But do I need to drill or mod anything to make the TJM T1 bull bar on?

you shouldnt have to. you will find out when you go to fit the bar. if no holes line up. then that probably means you have to drill them yourself. either way its no biggy. unless you dont own a drill. so borrow one. if you cant operate a drill then maybe you should be paying someone else to fit your bullbar.

if the var is to suit your type of vehicle and year model, then it should have all necessary brackets and hardware to fit it without modification to your car.

Actually, I had found the TJM T1 bull bar at a yard where export the old cars to Africa.
I called and asked if I could trade in my existing bumper with his TJM T1 and the aerorack.
He said how much I would offer him.
I tried AU$380 and it was a deal!

So, we are going to exchange to bumper at the spot.
There's why I want to know how to install it.
I guess we just change the bumper and the brackets which are needed.
Hopefully, it would turn out OK.

TJM sell the ECB bars www.ecb.com.au/model/Vitara.htm so it might bolt straight on,remembering of course our V6s are wider than a 4.
