Hey there, just wondering if anyone has put 35's on their Bundera, i have decent lift and am going to be puttin 2 inch spacers all round... THANKS

yeah i have 36/14.5/15 ground hawgs on my lj70
i havnt any pics, havnt worked out how to resize them :roll:

resize the pics, just open them in paint, click on stretch/skew and make them bout 40% the original size and save as a jpeg, thats all i do

I had an LJ70 with 35's. They fit without scrubbing (much) with 3" suspension and 2" body lift. There are problems however with 35's on this vehicle and you're not likely to be super happy with the results.

1. Power. the 2L-T doesn't have much, and the LJ70 already has 4.875:1 axle gearing. starting out is hard work, in fact the motor is working pretty hard most of the time. my 80 series (factory turbo) gets much better economy (around 12l/100km) compared to 14l/100km in the bundy. You will need to consider transfer case gears to make it work well offroad. (well maybe not in VIC, theres no rocks there!)

2. Driveline angles. If you put 2" packers on 3" coils you will NEED a double cardan joint at the transfer case end of the rear tailshaft. As much as I think bodylifts are dodgy under any circumstances, they are the best option to get 35's under a bundy without potentially expensive tailshaft mods. Even if the vibes don't feel too bad, you will go through tailshaft unis like toilet paper.

3. Steering angles. you will not get enough castor correction with castor bushes, and I'm not sure that 80 series castor plates will fit. you can slot and weld wasers to the front control arm mountings to get some castor back. You will need some castor correction if you insist on going 5" of suspension lift.

4. hill-climbing angles. there will be steep stuff that you used to be able to drive that you just can't drive any more, not only because of the loss of driving force due to the bigger tyres, but to the front-wheel lifting ability of such a tall shorty. I stood mine on the rear spare tyre a few times, on hills/rocks I could drive on 33's and slightly less lift. A classic example would be the BIG step on wheelbarrow ridge road - I could drive it on 33's (anyone who has seen the track knows what a cool step it is) but on 35's the truck always just stood on the rear bumper and cried for the winch. Seriously with the huge rampover of the bundy and decent approach and departure angles you can go anywhere on 33's that just about any other 4WD can do on 35's.

all that said, Bundies look cool and tough on 35's and they do get you just that much more clearance etc offroad so if you need them, go for it - but don't expect it to happen without a little bit of pain.

yeah there 265/75/16 and its a 3inch lift, thanks for the info, might consider 33's on it now

Bundymonkey has 35's on his Bundy....I'm not 100% sure on all the details, I just know its running 2" body, and maybe 4" 80 series springs. Just thought I'd post a pic of it but, as it looks sweet :cool:

What do you guys think of the Bundy's overall handling? I recently put a deposit on one (RJ75) 85 model but I hear they are veeeery tippy.

This ones got 2" extra spring lift over standard and 285/85/16 JT's (35's I think) no body lift and no motor so tippin it aint a problem yet :D :roll:

I have a carby 350 chev (unleaded) and auto I'd like to put in. Vehicle Standards SA reckon I'll probably have chassis and braking issues but thats up to the engineer to sort out what I would have to do.
