QLD suspension lift help

Post by ANDY_M »

Hi, i own a 90 model sierra and was wanting to know what is the maximum suspension lift that is legal in QLD?.....or in other states just to give me an idea? and if anyone knows if anyone knows if i could get a 5 inch lift engineered? coz i know that alot of patrols and cruisers have 6 inch lifts but is that because they have a wider track width?

any info that u can give me would be really helpful.

Have a look at what tyres and terrain you want to run first before jacking it to the roof.

5" in std sierra would be scary.

MAte im pretty sure u'll have to ask DOT for the real answer, but i know for sure that a 5 inch lift on a serria is outta the question for QLD. Heck the maximum diameter you can change legally for the tyres is 15mm in rolling diameter. Which is about a 215/70 tyre. There are engineers around, i think only 1 in QLD now that can engineer that sorta stuff, but they seem to go 'by the book'
As 4 the cruisers and patrols driving round, id really like to know how many of them are legal and have mod plates for there lifts and tyres.

maximum total lift is on ANY car is 2". this can be spring or body but body must be approved my DOT. Engineering does not change this and it has no relation to track width in QLD. Yes that does mean there are an aweful lot of illegal cars around. Tyres can only be 25mm bigger which as said limits you to about a 215/70. 5" on a zook without wider diffs or offset rims would suck offroad anyway.

And you would know!! Must have sucked having to revert your zook back to standard just so you could drive over the pits :bad-words:
