It's not actually for me, but my other half. I'm keeping the old Paj. I haven't had any probs following Patrols or cruisers whereever they go. I'm sure they are more capable than mine, but I haven't been anywhere yet that has led me to wish I had a better 4wd.
My other half is gonna start Family Day care, and she needs a 7 seater. i reckon she might as well get a 4wd instead of a van
I have done some reading though, and have found that the 2.8L isn't mush good anyways, so might look elsewhere.

Does she need a 4wd?
You may find life easier with a VW Transporter bus or similar. Cheaper to run as well as insure, and tires etc.
Seems a bit exxy
A mate bought a 2003 GU 3.0LTR with around 60,000kms on the clock for about $24,000 give or take a bit.
The 2.8LTRs are a strong motor but a bit sluggish and use a bit more fuel. But I'm sure there's mods that could be done to improve both

I agree with this. It would be better financially to get a 2wd people mover.
