okay here is my dilema ive just got my drover wheel cylinders stainless steel sleeved and rebuilt, now my intensions were to put them into my sierra ute, but now that ive the ute apart they are different in that the sierra ute has 1 breakline running to the rear diff and the wheel cylinders were for a drover with 2 breaklines running to the rear diff.

now my question, can i just get a splitter and turn my 1 breakline into two and get hardlines made to suit the new cylinders (two breakline)???

Help me out guys.

p.s ive tryed to remove the bleeder to replace it with a breakline but they have different internals and to my knowledge they wont seal.

Still need help :D

I made a post of the same as this also only couple weeks ago. will try find it.

i am trying to put a lwb ute diff into a swb. Not sure if it is a drover thing or a ute thing.

if you use the lines off your drover this will work. when i did the utey up i went from NT drover to WT sierra diffs. opposite to what your doing but i used all WT brake lines and fixed the prob. :?

Thanks for that but the difference is that i removed one of the bleeders to put the hardline in that goes from left drum to right drum but the internals are different and by the looks wouldnt seal.

So if i just added a splitter and new hardlines would that decrase my breaking ability at all??

should be still pumping the same amount of fluid..unless your new cylinders are bigger than stock it will be the same

Thanks for all the help, ill try and get it sorted get a slitter and new hardlines hoping that itll work and not decrease braking.

the bit inside the hole on the brakeline bits are removeable, I did this when upgrading my 1.0 litre brakes to 1.3.

I removed one from an old cylinder, put it in the right hand wheel cylinder, then used my original lines.

How do i remove the bit inside the wheel cylinder?? the dome shaped bit that buts up and seals the breakline?? if i could do this i wouldnt have to get a splitter and new hardlines made, which i may end up doing anyway. will the splitter idea work??

I went to a brake place, they said screw a self tapper in, not too big or you'll stuff it, then pull it out with pliers. Or get them to do it. They pop in easy, then no need to redo lines. I bet there is a propre tool for it. I''m assuming they are the same in every other respect, because some are not same size.

I finished up with a splitter in the end, cos I gone to rear discs.

Use a splitter, should be better. Why ? because the other way tends to apply the right brake first when suddenly braking. Best would be to make both sides even. This is what should be done on a race car. The other ways cheaper.

Thanks guys, and zute i have noticed the pulling i will go with a splitter and redo it and will let you all know how it goes, and with the wheel cylinders they are stainless steel sleeved and the sleeve is gaurenteed for life which to me sounds great the cups and seals are gaurenteed for 12 months :cool: :cool: :cool:
