60 series front short side axle length

Post by STUMPY »

OK, i've searched long and hard (hehehe hard) and can't find anything on it.

Can someone please measure or direct me to a website with the length of a 60 series front shortside axle.

Need the measurement from the end of the axle to the CV, or the total length.

Cheers Joel

Thanks dave

I was hoping that the 60 short side would be longer than that. From memory, a 60 front diff is about 5" wider than a lux and knew the longsides were the same length so i assumed that the shortside would be 5" longer the hilux. What i forgot was that the 60's center is much wider, hence offsetting the axles more than the hilux.

Cheers

With the CV, the inner axle measurements are (overall length):

Short side:

60s = 637mm
Hilux = 587mm

Long Side:
60s = 999mm
Hilux = 998mm

60s rear inner axles measured from inside of flange to end of splines:

long = 970mm
short = 609mm

60s rear is about the same as an IFS rear wms to wms, the solid axle rear is 75mm shorter.

The 60 front diff is not anywhere near 5in wider than a hilux.
All the measurments i took when putting one in the front of mine, I came up with about 30mm from memory Alltough the short side axle is longer and the centre wider i belive the axles go into the centre further thus why you only get about 30mm.Bonus is the spring perchers are the same seperation as Lux so its not hard to make fit. :D
Hope you were'nt looking for the extra width.
