Hi there,
I am a disco man myself but my stepdad just passed the 1/2 million kilometre mark in his turbo Diesel Rocky. It has had 2 clutches done and minor servicing items but that is it. Not bad huh?

Take me to the Bush!
The Daihatsu diesel is a good strong motor, keep the servicing up to it and it will go around the clock without a major problem.
My F60 had to have some work done to it as some previous owners neglected to do proper servicing, but still did 300,000 km's.
My old man owns a 1981 (same year as me!) HJ47 Landcrusier he bought thrid hand. Has done a approximate of 600,000-700,000 km's. The speedo stopped working at 350,000 km's and only worked for half it's life. Only had the engine rebuilt due to a cracked head at approximate 550,000-600,000 km's and still going strong.
Well designed and looked after diesels (e.g. Toyota 2H/B, Daihatsu DG/DL, Nissan TD42) will give long and trouble free life.

AWD is a poor excuse for a 4WD.
