Part Numbers for Series 1 GQ rear lights

Post by JK »

As a part of my rear 1/4 chop, I need to procure a pair of Series 1 rear light pods for my GQ.

The series 1 lights include the indicators and brakelights.

Problem is that for my local guy to order them for me he needs to know the part numbers to make sure they send Series 1 and not Series 2 lights.

Can anyone help out and advise on Part Numbers?

Thanks in advance.

do the lights themselves have the part numbers on them? If so I can go outside with a screwdriver and check now for you.

Both LH and RH lights have two numbers on them 7239 & 4419.
There is also a brand name "IKI" on them, as well as Nissan.

Spose I should rephrase what I wrote, there are no numbers apart from 12v printed or stamped etc, on the the back of the lights ie the bit you can't normally see.

I seem to remember A1MAV saying he was going to change over to the series 2 lights and convert the reverse part to indicators. If you are close enought to him maybe you could do a swap?

I know the Series 2 light have a Nissan Part # NI-26550-52N00 because you can't buy them aftermarket. The Series 1 lights can be bought aftermarket and are much cheaper.

Thanks for all your help.

I'll catch up with A1MAV. He only lives about 1hr drive north from me and he might be up for a straight swap.

Otherwise, all my Series 2 lights will be up for sale once I change over to the S1.

Jk still considerin that idea of changin em ova the only thing is i would have to do it after i got it engineered as ive already spoken to him aboutn these lights and he said he wouldnt pass em cause the reverse light hasnt got the same reflective propertys as the conventional blinker lense m :bad-words:

Ps and the little mav is no where near engineerin time :bad-words:

I can't understand what he has the problem with... Surely the Series II lights would comply with the ADR even more so than the Series I lights?!?

How are you planning on setting them up? You going to run separate indicators, brakes and tail-lights in the rear bar? Series II rear lights only use the reverse lights in the actual light pods, the rest are dummy lights / reflectors.

It should be quite easy to mod the dummy lights to work as brake / tail lights but you will still need separate indicators.

I want the Series I lights so that I have all the lights in the one unit so I can get rid of the bumper lights altogether.

Quick clarification....

Are both of those part numbers written on both lights

OR

is 7239 the LH one and 4416 the RH one?

both numbers are on both lights. ie: one number is written on the red bit and one on the orange bit.

Try aftermarket....4x4 Parts Australia in Qld (Brendale) sells these for $85 per unit.

I haven't actually purchased them yet, but I emailed them some months and they came back with this price. Worht a phone call (07) 3205 4377.

I am interested in purchasing a good clean set of late model GQ bumpers, the ones with the provision for taillights, and as well I need the rear aluminium step ( must be straight ). Live in the Mornington Peninsula area

I'm getting my rear quarters cut tomorrow so i needed to change from series 2 to series 1 rear lights. I went to the wreckers and they had new aftermarket series 1 rear lights for $75 dollars each. With a trade in on my series 2 rear lights i got both for $75.

RoadNazi, I have my original series 2 rear bumper including lights and aluminium step in good condition if you are interested, I'm located in Upwey, south east melbourne
