Try some engine additives, like wynns or similar, unless you just want to quieten it down to sell it then use gear oil,but watch it doesn't blow the oil filter off on a cold start.
Don't cost much for some new bearings if you gunna keep it.
253's are hard to kill,I know I've tried.

if it is knocking it there is too much clearance, ie it is worn out! As cuz said you can try those additives to quieten it down to sell it but you cant buy bearings in a bottle!

Like i said replace the bearings and it will be fixed!

Probably the best thing to do would be to throw the Fluffy to the tip and put a real engine in there... Fluffys are gutless and heavy for the output.

Get a bigger sound system!!

Seriously Brgs are easy to replace but it will depend on how the crank measures up and how long the noise has been there...
Are you sure its brgs as the cams wear out and can make a bit of noise...

some setups in trucks you can get the sump off without taking the motor out,if so just pull the sump check the bearing sizes ,they are pretty cheap for 253' ect, and replace it ,if its rods not a problem cranks a bit harder.
Ps if you drive it like it is it will let you down and towing is worth more than a bearing! If its knocking then oil pressure will be down right thru the motor and other s$%t will wear out. :)
Just a thought you sure its a bearing and its not a f#$@d hydraulic lifter?
