SUPERCHARGED 3.0L HILUX 5L MOTOR
right oh guys... has anyone got experience in doing this or is it just way off and im dreaming,, the attraction is that i wouldnt have to modify any outlet manifold. just plumb into the inlet line.. and does anyone know the output of a supercharger that would be suitable for a 3.0l engine..
Go for a turbo instead. Why?
* It's been done before both factory and aftermarket
* Easier to plumb in a turbo than stuff around making brackets and moving accessories around.
* If you are thinking one of those cheap Toyota superchargers, they can be really noisy as well.
Each to their own I suppose, it will depend on how much of it you can fabricate yourself. Keep in mind you can get a turbo kit for around $3000, in fact I'm looking in the 4WD monthly mag and 4WD Systems has a kit for the 3.0 Hilux for $2195 Bargain!

A friend of a friend of mine has a sprintex supercharger on his 2.8 lux and it keeps up to a turbo patrol untill about 120k when the patrol leaves it for dead, but that is more than likely gearing.
I havnt seen in the engine bay but I know in my 2.8 lux bay there isnt a lot of room for anything belt driven. To fit a second air con as OBA I am going to shift the battery.
