Springs, spring rates & weight of vehicle

I took my old springs up to Brown Springs today to get tehm measured and get new ones made up.

I took measurements of compressed length before I pulled them out so that they could work out how much weight was on each corner.

When they put them on the press he said I had 410lbs on the front corners and 440lb on the rears. I was looking at HSV Rangies specs and the weight is less than half of what he has. Does this weight sound right?

The springs that were in there were 160lb front and 320lb rear, no wonder I had no flex on the rear. I have ordered 160lb front and 200lb rear and heights to give a 2" lift at front and 2.5" lift at rear.

Yeah I thought mine were a little stiff when I bought the car 4 years ago.
Checked the OME part number, 763's, 360lb's!
761's in the front at 200lbs, which I think feel a little soft.

But yeah, chuck some weight in the back and she doesn't drop at all!

Yes, it will be a totally different feeling with only 200lb coils in the rear.

Does anyone else know what weight they have at each corner.

HSV Rangie states almost 900lb front and 1100lb rear. Is that massively heavy or is my 420lb very light???

I was always told to work on 500kg a corner... dunno how right that is but it's worked for me (i have a 4 door)

I like the bumpstops to be just touching on the two compressed corners when its crossaxled and loaded to the usual weight. This is the best rate for max artiiculation and off - road traction.

Something has been measured wrong, unless you mean 410 kg instead of 410 lbs. There is no way that a Rangie could have 410 lbs on a corner.

You should be 400 to 500 kg on a spring.

That would explain it. It must have been 410kg.

Do you still have working load lever fitted at the rear? Maybe could explain the difference in the rear corner loads (compared to others).
