MQ - MK

Post by MQ080 »

Currently I am driving a SWB 4sp SD33 MQ, 35's, lifted, locked, etc. After much thought I still can't decide to put a 5sp or just sell it and go for an MK? The gearing is so low and i am wondering if a 5 speed will make it all that more drivable around town and out on trips?

Advantages in the MK world being obvious
A/C, P/S, Turbo

What are people's thoughts?

5 speeds are rare as hens teeth to buy separate, might be easier to get an MK.

Same transfer case, not sure about the driveshafts though

The 5-speed uses a longer front shaft and a shorter rear shaft than the 4-speed.
I know where there is a good turbo diesel, 5-speed and transfer 4 sale ;)

i'm pretty sure the five speed has a different spline on the output shaft and i know for sure the turbo transfer has larger shafts in it
