Post by flynn »

so driving home tonite i noticed i had a full tank of fuel...thought thast was a wee bit strange considering i started off with half a tank...and then noticed my engine temp was off the charts...HOT!!!...i hadnt been givin it any so i figured that was wrong....i checked all the other gauges and they was sweet....

usually when u blow the gauge fuse they all drop the other way...

so when i got home i sus'd out some fuses...all good try the car again still over....pop the bonnet in hope to notice anything not attached...fidled with some connections. tried the car again and they went back to normal temp and half a tank....have no idea wat it was but hey it works again....

any ideas???

cheers mick

haha weird stuff...

on a bit of a tangent... My lighting behind my fan control switches never worked since i bought the car... didnt think it lit up at all.. i got used to it.

The other night, it was all lit up and i was stoked!! It worked for a few days until I moved the control from 'demister' position to 'face' position and they all went off again.... must be something loose along the lines... but ic ant be stuffed to look in there... lol Any one had this happen?

i really think its another one of daihatsu's great traits....stuff just suddenly stops work and then other stuff will randomly start.

the light behind the battery gauge never worked. i had always given it a bit of a beating to see if it would turn on...the other day was gettin cut at my car about all the stuff that doesnt work...i looked it and was like 'and wats ur f*ckin problem?' and bashed it a couple of times and now it works everytime.

u can tell it hasnt work for a while coz it hasnt faded like the other gauges.

When things don't work then it working is usually due to electricity, mostly the earth. or the switch getting stuck in mechacnical devices. half the time i don't bother the other half i fix it

the thing i h8 with my F20 is that i cant get the freaking centre plastic dash bit off like there are 3 screews/bolts i can see and there is one going through the wiper switch at the bottem but u cant get the wipper switch off to got to it :bad-words:

and all the other dash parts are freaking tight and smart diahatsu decided to put philips head bolts in so now there incredibly tight and imposible to get out now :bad-words:

so iritating

would any one know if i can just go slap in any other aftermarket guage in the hole as long as it fits

and also is it possible to get a 4 inch size tacho with out one of them big wanky shift lights hanging off the side :bad-words: :bad-words:

Yeh you can get a big tacho minus a shift light, theyre removable on them ones anyways

If a gauge fits, I dont see why you cant use it :D just give it a go! ;)
