Hilux LSD help

Post by andrew e »

If you have a busted axle spline inside a lux LSD can you remove the axle on the other side and knock the busted bit out with a long skinny rod? or is there somthing in the LSD center (cross shaft or lsd part) to stop you going all the way through?

Yea the cross pin, don't be lazy it's only an extra 5 min to drop the centre out and you can make sure there is no floaties left in there

There is a spider gear pin that goes right across where you would need to put your bar through. Your 100% better off removing the centre to check for shards of metal. You will be extra pissed off if you dont do it and a chunk gets jammed between those oh so expensive crown and pinion gears.

so if the axle is busted on the end of the spline you can still remove the center without it getting caught on the busted stub?
