basically, i have 2 ARB switches, to use with a hardmounted compressor and tank, and locker solenoid. I don't have the ARB loom, and am wondering how to wire the switches so that they work and i get the bling lights in the switches. I got a wiring diagram from ARB but i'm an engineer not a sparky
There's 5 posts on the switch, and really all i should need is power in and out to the solenoids, so how do i wire in the cool little blue lights?
And more importantly, any bets on how many times i zap myself?
hold the switch so that as you look at the back the terminals look like this:

the top two terminals have to be earthed, this is easy.
the middle terminal is your power in (whether its from battery or ignition source etc is up to you but if its the compressor switch make sure you use a relay as the switch is not rated for the current a compressor draws)
the bottom left terminal is power out ( ie this will become live when the switch is switched on)
the bottom right terminal is the illumination input, so connect it into an existing dashboard light that comes on with the parkers.
do the same for the locker switch but use the wire that comes from the bottom left terminal of the compressor switch as your "power in" wire, so it will only work when you have the compressor switched on).
does that make sense?
why not just buy an ARB wiring loom?

the reason i dont have the loom is coz of expense and redundancy. i already have a fair shiteload of electrical fittings and wire, and already have a compressor in place with tank. so all i needed was the switch, some wire and a relay. ARB wouldn't sell me the loom only, and wanted to charge me 170 bucks for the whole compressor kit, even though i pointed out that i have a regulated air supply already.
