Vitara 1.6 motor with Sierra 1.3 box and adaptor plates
I been thinking about doing this conversion, is it as simple as it sounds?

This is a simple bolt in to a Sierra. The adaptor plate allows direct bolt up to a Sierra 1.3 box. The computer and loom is already converted, so this too will be a simple wire in job.
A 1.6 Vitara passenger side engine mount is same as a 1.3 sierra, and the drivers side engine mount is already converted to suit a 1.3.
I've never done the conversion myself, so this is just educated guess work, so those that know, feel free to tell me.
I believe it uses a stock 1.3 Sierra radiator, but could I be wrong.

Hey chris i run this exact conversion. in a 1990 swb
it took me ages but that was for all the wiring and cos im new to all this.
the actuall mounting is easy. first ever mechanical thing ive done.
my only question to u is wheter the sump will clear the diff. my zook is sprung over with a 2 inch body lift. and it clears just.
the way to fix this i am told is to modify the oil pick up from the 1.6 to the 1.3 and run a 1.3 sump
the next prob i have is if you have no bodylift (dont know your car) and its the multi point fuel injection people have told me u need to run a bonnet scoop cos the top of the engine wont clear the bonnet.
hope this helps.

89 lux 2bl 4inch spring 35's etc still slow as a snail
oh the other thing i just thought of are the fuel hoses, fuel pump, and water hoses.
The air box is also fun. i am currently strugeling with what to do for that.
just running a pod filter at the moment. anyone out there with ideas for the air box? i want to run a snorkle at some stage to.
accelerator cable was the last of my real strugels. i dont know what others have done (and would be interested to know) for this but what i have done is bought a bicycle gear cable $5 and cut it to size then used whats called a Knarps Cable end. U can buy em at most BMX shops for about $8 and they are a device that you thred the cable through to desired length and then insert a litle hex screw and tighten. briliant little thing.
not hard just fucken anoying. just some other things to allow time and money for.
