I have a late 89 4runner with the usual problem of the window controler not working.
But where to find it
I have heard of it being in the passenger footwell as well as being behind the large rear plastic molding in the rear side as well.
I want to take it out so I can send it of to my brother so he can fix it (he is a electrical engineer!)
Anyone with a broke one that I could send instead
Also are the rear speakers easy to get out as well?

Rear Window Controler

I think the engine computer is behind the panel next to the passengers feet and the rear window control box is behind the left rear taillight area, access is as you say, from behind the rear plastic liner.
I understand the conrtol box has a number of inputs for the rear window to work (e.g. the rear wiper in park position, micro switches making sure the door is closed, etc.).
Check the rear wiper is all the way up, as this has been an issue b4.
