Hi
Was wondering whether there should be a dowell in the rear crank flange where the flywheel bolts on. Can any one who has rebuilt a f300 feroza tell me.
Thanks

dowell in back of f300 crank!

Thanks
Thanks for the reply. A few months ago I bought a feroza for my wife. As it goes, the engine needed rebuilding. When I pulled it apart there was only two dowells for the pressure plate in the fly wheel, the other was floating around the bell housing. There was no dowell in the crank flange but there is a recepticile hole in the back of the flange face. Interestingly enough there was no dowell hole in the flywheel. When I assembled the flywheel on the engine and lightly do the flywheel bolts up you can still rotate the flywheel about 10 degrees. This made me wonder whether I have a brumby flywheel.
Today I machined up some very small sleeves and shrunk them into the flywheel bolt holes which has bought the flywheel rotation with the bolts done up lightly back to about a degree..
You might ask why so fussy about such a thing, the answer is I am installing a turbo and a m400 motec as my wife has requested more power.
Thanks

I'll Keep You informed on how it works out.
I have got the workshop manuals and there's no mention of a dowell though, there is a drawing that is either a dowell or the spigot bearing that is in the end of the crankshaft, I was needing someone who had done a rebuild to verify whether there is a dowell or not.
