Ford 9 inch

Can get hands on ford 9 inch converted hilux diff, was wondering if a Landcruiser centred diff would be better suited, any ideas would be appreciated, i have fairly worked 308, so needs to be strong, does ford do 4.3 diff ratio's , need this to match front . thanks

most cruiser rear diffs are offset so no good for the rear of a lux, the 80 and 100's are almost central but still slightly offset, id try and find 4.3 gears for the 9" as its stronger than the toyota 9".

you can get almost any ratio you can dream up for a ford 9"

agreed landcruisers are off set, i am meaning getting the centre welded in place of hilux centre, seems to work extremely well, then could go air locker, was more wondering if it will hold up to the power, or whether a detroit locker an the 9 inch would be the smarter option. any ideas on price of detroit locker..?

Have been making the diff housings you mensioned for years now ( atleast 15 years and have made over 50 of them ) they work well as the cruiser and hilux have the same axle spine so there's no special parts required apart from the housing. 100 series came out with 4.3 and it has a 9 1/2 crown wheel thats even better. Ive run my 400+ HP big block 4B with up to 39" tyres on cruiser centres with no probs. A mate has a forced 3.8 comm V6 in his lux and has the 100 center 4.3 gears and ARB locker in his and hasn't missed the beat since being fitted.

wally you sound like the man i want to talk to, my mate got air locker cruiser rear and hilux front also seems to work treat just wasnt sure on what power could handle. this clears it up well. 4.3 is exactly what i need, just got find some one who has diffs wanting to get rid off, are you interested in doing the conversion, how much
