Tacho operation

Post by Superduki »

g'day all ive just purchased a 98 gu patrol wagon after a long stint with suzuki's. The vehicle started life with a 2.8 turbo diesel motor which has since been replaced by a 4.2 turbo diesel GQ motor. I know maybe this question has been asked before but the tacho obviously doesnt match up and i was wondering has anyone done this conversion and got it to operate? and assistance would be greatly appreciated, Cheers Simon.

yeah i was under the impression that the tacho pulsed differently, as the wire and connector are still on the motor i was thinking of just connecting the two up, but not so simple!! I thought maybe someone on OL has done the conversion and got the tacho to work.... Thanks for your thoughts though, much appreciated
