Bullbars banned in NZ
Seems the guys over hear are getting anti 4wd at the moment.
Showed on the News last night a jerk off putting anti SUV stickers on 4wds saying "Im polluting your air" etc etc.
Seems 4wds are too dangerous to be allowed on the road and if you dont use them off road, you shouldnt be allowed one anyway.
New law comes out in October meaning any new "passenger orientated" vehicles are not allowed bullbars.
This would pretty much mean any Isuzu.

Does that mean that if you pull out all the passenger seats its alright?
But seriously, that sux!
Hope it never goes that far over here...
If Harold Scruby of the Pedestrian Association or whatever it is he calls his little club, (It doesn't appear to have anyone else in it) has his way. He keeps pushing a little bit and a little bit. we need to lobby all the time the way he does or he will win.

I hate this sort of rubbish. Its just the newest trend in environmentalism.
Less cars would be good, I admit that, but to target 4wds on fuel consumption is a JOKE - look at how many BA's there are around - those things drink A LOT, not to mention an XR6 or HSV - and other sports V8's. Just check out the article in 4wd monthy for some stats...
And bullbars - I disagree with that too - its a huge knee jerk reaction from simple minded people to a very small problem. We dont have those huge bufalo catchers sold anymore - bars are a lot better designed - plus they serve an important purpose - hell - an ordinary bumper bar causes injury when it strikes someone... They could put their overly eager legislating pencils to better use elsewhere IMO

Bull bars on my vehicles have saved my life (& others with me) on numerous occassions. Roos, emu's, & other wildlife, as well as a spare trailer wheel which came off on the F3 @ 110kmh. Bloke hadn't put the spare back in his boot & had driven 90km with it sitting on the trailer draw bar!
Harold Scruby is a waste of space.
Interesting fact on him: He hit a pedestrian - jogger, with his Volvo & went to court for damages & lost. He started up the PCA after that.
