Trip Report for you all :)

Great run!!!!! Some action as well!!!!!!!

This was mainly a Navigation run with questions, markers and some scrabble at the end. There was stuff to drive tho.

Bubs tried a bog hole and got bogged. Scott then tried it and got bogged as well. The 1st check point was a bog hole straight after this one so they decided to go around. Punchy in his 75 series thought he'd give it a go but entered the mud too quickly and soaked his points and had to be recovered and dried out a bit. This hole gave much amusement to us at least as every single other rig that attempted the hole made it through....including a lot of zooks  One zook made it 90% of the way through and it was only after he put it in 4 wheel drive that he drove out of it  Hows that for a :finger: to punchy hehehehe

Round the corner and the best carnage for the night was about to happen. Punchy put one wheel in mud and one on dry land and before anyone knew what was going on he laid the 75 on it's side. A quick winch and he was back up but not before lots of photos were taken (Punch should be posting them up sometime).

On wards and the next carnage was Scott redesigning his front guard trying to do a short rutted climb. Last checkpoint was a short steep climb that Scott drove with plenty of mumbo but Bubs struggled on without a locker. That was pretty much it and we all headed home.

Good fun, great run, spotted OOZUK out there as well (drove the mudhole well).

Damn! Shane and I missed all the action!!
We were 2nd car out, but by the time we took the first exit, we were 1st. Never looked back after that. Got to the finish at about 9:45pm, and we even stopped at CP2 for a while for everyone to catch up. :? We even considered going back to the start and doing it again. (We missed the answers to 2 of the questions near the start. ;) ) Other than that, we had a pretty good night, got all the VRC and letter boards, unscrambled the puzzle, full points on CP1 and CP3, but we avoided CP2 as both Shane and I have both been stuck in that hole before and didn't want a repeat. (In hindsight, we probably should have checked the depth before we skipped it. ) I think we did pretty well on the questions, even the ones that didn't get included but were on the map. We just guessed the answers, and Eric (organiser) told me I actually got some right! He wouldn't tell me how many but. :x As soon as I know results, I will post them up. Probably only 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We don't usually worry about listing anything under that.

BTW, how f***ing fun was that dirt road behind the Willowbank drag strip???? 2WD, rear locker on, goin' ballistic!!!!

The left rear brake was locked on slightly and heated up pretty bad then all the brake fluid drained into the hub , so the brake light came on because there was no brake fluid, so we slowly pulled up with no brakes... then once we stopped everything inside the hub caught fire. The fire extinguisher didn't do much because it kept re-igniting, so we splashed a few litres of water on it to cool it down. Meanwhile a passer-by must've called the fire brigade, they turned up about 20 minutes later.
The 4 lane highway was covered with a huge steam cloud for a while

That's only the 2nd fire I know of from a Logan night run. The last was on our extreme run in November 2000 when a shorty Cruiser tipped on it side then ignited. But you guys went up on the way home! :? You can't even call that trail carnage. :finger:

Seriously, what's the damage?

Only if you run at it like a cut snake with two wheels down and two wheels high. Farking slippery didn't help. Seriously punchy, - glad no one was hurt and the beast was still driveable. I'll post the picky's to you as soon as I get them on the web.
